Cycle Management from Jira

AIO Tests allows users to integrate with Jira via the AIO Tests Jira Panel. By integrating this panel, you can not only view traceability information of a Jira issue, but can also create, link and unlink a cycle without leaving Jira.

In this documentation, you’ll understand:

Steps to Create a Cycle

Step 1: To create a cycle, simply click on the Cycles tab and click on the Create Cycle button.

Step 2: Enter the Case Title to create a cycle.

  • Users have the option to set the start and end date of the cycle.

  • Users can click on the Expand button to fill in additional details about the case in the modal window.

  • By default, the owner is set as the user creating the cycle.

  • Users have the option to change the project by clicking on the project icon displayed on the left of the Title box. Once they click on the project icon, a list of Jira projects to which the user has access is shown and users can select another project.

  • By default, the current Jira project icon is loaded allowing users to create cycles in the current project.

Step 3: Finally, click on the Create button.

Once you click on the Create button, a new line will appear for quickly adding another cycle.

  • If there are Published cases attached to the Jira issue, they get automatically added to the newly created cycle. If cycles are already linked to the Jira issue, then the ‘Create New Cycle’ link doesn’t appear.

  • Users can create and link new cycles using the top '+' icon.

Steps to Link Existing Cycles

Step 1: To link existing cycles to a Jira issue, simply click on the Link Cycle button and select the desired cycle from the drop-down menu.

If cycles are already linked to a Jira issue, users can use the link button to link additional cycles.

Once you select the desired cycle, it will get automatically linked to the Jira issue.

  • Users can also search for cycle by cycle key or cycle title.

  • Users also have the option to change the project by clicking on the project icon and link cycles of other projects.

  • Only cases belonging to the newly selected project that are linked to the Jira issue will be added to the cycle.

Steps to Unlink Cycles

Step 1: To unlink a cycle, tick the desired cycles that you want to unlink and hit the Unlink option from the top bar menu.

Step 2: Once you click on the unlink option, a pop-up confirmation dialog window will appear on the screen. Click on the Unlink button.

Multiple cycles can be unlinked together by checking the boxes on the left of the cycle key and clicking the Unlink option from the top.
