User Activity Report
Overview
User Activity Report shows the user activity, for a specific time period range and grouping (daily, weekly etc), and for the current project or across projects. This report can track 7 user activity parameters related to Case and Execution data as below:
Case: Created / Updated / Automated
Execution: Case assigned / Runs executed / Actual effort / Defects discovered
This report can help to plan the upcoming work load of a user based on their recent work velocity.
Generating User Activity Report
Click on the right chevron next to the User Activity report to get the input screen for the report.
The report input modal contains below fields:
Users: Specify the list of users for which you want to track the activity. This is a mandatory input.
Include activity data only from current Project: Unselecting this option will show the user activity from all projects in which the user has contributed into the areas being tracked in the report. By default this option is selected, which means that activity will be tracked only from the current project.
Include limited visibility Cases: If this option is selected, then Cases which are visible only to the current logged in user will also be included in the report. By default this option is not selected.
(For more details on limited visibility Cases refer https://aioreports.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/NAT/pages/1900872632/Case+Statuses#Understanding-the-Three-(3)-Options )
Activity dates
Activity start date: The date from which the user activity should be tracked. This is a mandatory input.
Activity end date: The user activity will be tracked till the end of this date. If this parameter is not specified, then current date is used as Activity end date.
Activity time period: This is the time period grouping which should be used to group the user activity. Time period options are None, Day, Week, Month, Quarter and Year.
If None is selected, the whole time period between start and end date will be considered as single bucket.
Activity selection: Select the activity parameters to track the in the report.
Case created: Tack the number of cases created.
Case updated: Track the number of cases updated. This option will show the count of unique case updated in the time period bucket. For ex: If the time period grouping is for Week, then even if a case has been updated twice in the week, it will only add 1 to the count.
Case automated: Track the number of cases automated.
Case assigned: Track number of cases assigned to the user for execution.
Run executed: Track number of runs executed (runs marked as completed) by the user. If a user has done multiple Runs for a Case in a Cycle, then each Run will be counted here.
(For more details on Run statuses marked as Execution Completed refer https://aioreports.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/NAT/pages/1900872867/Run+Statuses#Overview. By default these would be Passed and Failed statues.)Actual effort: Track the actual effort logged by the user for each run executed.
Defects discovered: Track the number of unique Defects associated with the Runs executed by the user.
User Activity Report
Once the report is generated it will look as below:
The above report was generated for Case created, updated and automated activity parameters.
The report is showing the selected user activity parameters for each User grouped as per the selected time period - Year in this case.
If the report is generated after unselecting “Include activity data only from current Project“, the User row can be expanded to show the project wise activity for the user.
By default, the “Show only non-empty items“ filter is applied. So if a row does not contain any activity, it will be filtered out.
The above report was generated for Case assigned, Run executed and Defects discovered parameters.
