AIO Tests allows you to create a set for multiple cases effortlessly. Whether you want to add specific cases from the All Cases folder to a specific set or want to add multiple cases from a specific folder to a set, the test management tool lets you do it with ease. With this feature, you can create sets quickly and easily without having to enter set details manually.

How to Create Set for Multiple Cases

Step 1: To create a set for multiple cases, simply click on the Cases option in the top bar menu.

Step 2: Click on the folder from where you want to create a set for multiple cases and hit the Pencil icon (Users can also click the pencil icon and start the process if random cases have to be selected or use filter criteria and then click the pencil icon).

Step 3: Tick the cases for which you want to create a set.

Users can only add published cases to a set. However, if you select under review case or cases belonging to a status that is not eligible for adding to a set, a warning message will be displayed.

Step 4: Click on the Bulk button and select the Create Set option from the drop-down menu.

Once you click on the Create Set option, the Create Set modal window will appear on the screen where you can add the below details under the Details tab.

  • Title: Create an appropriate title for the set being created. 

By default, a title is already created for the set. It is recommended to change the Title of the set being created. If Component and Release values are the same for all the selected cases then they will be copied to the create set window.

  • Objective: In this field, the user can enter the motive/reason to create that particular Set.

  • Folder: The folder drop-down shows the folder structure for sets.

  • Owner: The user can select the name of the person who is responsible for this Set.

The owner could be anyone in the team. It is not necessary that the owner should be the person who created the Set.

  • Component: With AIO Tests, Components that were created in the Jira project, become available while creating a Set. This feature helps to categorize and organize Sets.

  • Release: With AIO Tests, Releases that were created in the Jira project, become available while creating a Set.

  • Tags: Tags are keywords that let you classify your Set in a more flexible and informal manner. They help you in searching.

  • Users can associate multiple tags with a Set. To create a new tag, the user just needs to enter the tag name in the field and press enter once done.

  • Users also need to enter details in Custom Fields, if any.

Users also have the option to add more cases to the set being created by clicking on the Add Cases option located at the top right corner of the Create Set modal window (the cases selected in step#3 will be added automatically).

Select cases that you want to add to that particular set from a list of published cases of the current as well as any other project you have access to.

  • Users can search for Cases using the Case title or key via the search box. However, users can also use filters like Key, Owner, Priority, Status, etc. to get a specific list quickly. By using the Add or Remove Filters button, users can add more filter options. 

  • Users can change the project using the project selector drop-down to add cases of other projects.

  • By default, the list only shows cases in Published status. The cases in Draft, Under Review and Deprecated statuses cannot be added to a Set. If the user looking for a specific case, then by turning on “Show Non-eligible cases also”, they can view all cases.

  • Users can also select the version of the case that they want to add to a Set by clicking on the version drop-down and ticking the check box for it.

Once you select the cases, click on the Save button to create the set.

Users have the option to click on the “Details” tab to go back and update the initial screen data.

Steps to Add Multiple Cases to an Existing Set

Step 1: To add multiple cases to a set, all you need to do is click on the Cases option in the top bar menu.

Step 2: Click on the folder from where you want to add multiple cases to a set and hit the Pencil icon or hit the Pencil icon and select the cases from the parent All folder or apply a filter criteria and then hit the Pencil icon.

Step 3: Tick the cases that you want to add to a set.

Step 4: Click on the Bulk button and select the Add to Set option from the drop-down menu.

Step 5: Once you click on the Add to Set button, the Add to Set modal window will appear on the screen. Select the Set(s) to which the cases need to be added.

  • Users can only add a case to the Set if it does not already exist in the Set.

  • Users have the option to specify multiple sets belonging to the same or different projects.

  • Users can add only those cases to the Set that are in Published status.

Step 5: Finally, click on the Add to Set button.

Once you click on the Add to Set button, a success message will be displayed on the screen saying, the cases are added to a Set(s) successfully.
