AIO Tests allows users to create/add cycle(s) to a set with the click of a button. With this feature, you can not only add specific cycles from the All Cycles folder to a specific set, but can also add multiple cycles from a specific folder to a set.

In this documentation, you’ll understand:

How to Create a Set for Multiple Cycles

Step 1: To create a set for multiple cycles, simply click on the Cycles option in the top bar menu.

Users can also click the pencil icon and start the process if random cycles have to be selected or use filter criteria. Then, click the pencil icon.

Step 2: Click on the folder from where you want to create a set for multiple cycles and hit the Pencil icon.

Step 3: Tick the cycles for which you want to create a set. Click on the Bulk button and select the Create Set option from the drop-down menu.

Once you click on the Create Set option, the Create Set modal window will appear on the screen where you can add the below details under the Details tab.

  • Title: Create an appropriate title for the cycle being created.

By default, a title is already created for the cycle. It is recommended to change the Title of the cycle being created. If Component and Release values are the same for all the selected cycles then they will be copied to the create set window.

  • Objective: In this field, the user can enter the motive/reason to create that particular Cycle.

  • Folder: The folder drop-down shows the folder structure for cycles.

  • Owner: The user can select the name of the person who is responsible for this Cycle.

The owner could be anyone in the team. It is not necessary that the owner should be the person who created the Cycle.

  • Component: With AIO Tests, Components that were created in the Jira project, become available while creating a Cycle. This feature helps to categorize and organize Cycles.

  • Release: With AIO Tests, Releases that were created in the Jira project, become available while creating a Cycle.

  • Tags: Tags are keywords that let you classify your Cycle in a more flexible and informal manner. They help you in searching.

Users can associate multiple tags with a Set. To create a new tag, the user just needs to enter the tag name in the field and press enter once done.

Users also need to enter details in Custom Fields, if any.

Users also have the option to add more cases to the set being created by clicking on the Add Cases option located at the top right corner of the Create Set modal window (the cases selected in step#3 will be added automatically).

Select cases that you want to add to that particular set from a list of published cases of the current as well as any other project you have access to. Once you select the cases, click on the Save button to create the set.

  • Users can search for Cases using the Case title or key via the search box. However, users can also use filters like Key, Owner, Priority, Status, etc. to get a specific list quickly. By using the Add or Remove Filters button, users can add more filter options.

  • Users can change the project using the project selector drop-down to add cases of other projects.

  • By default, the list only shows cases in Published status. The cases in Draft, Under Review and Deprecated statuses cannot be added to a Set. If the user looking for a specific case, then by turning on “Show Non-eligible cases also”, they can view all cases.

  • Users have the option to click on the “Details” tab to go back and update the initial screen data.
