AIO Tests allows you to customize the default issue type to use while creating a defect at the Run or Step level from the Cycle details page. The test management tool also allows users to specify if they wish to add any AIO fields to the description of the defect created. This gives users more flexibility while creating defects from AIO Tests.

In this documentation, you’ll understand:

Steps to Set General Preferences

Step 1: To set general preferences, click on the Gear icon and select the Project Settings option from the drop-down menu.

Step 2: On the Project Settings page, click on the General Preferences option in the sidebar menu.

Once you click on the General Preferences, you will get two options:

  • Default Jira Issue Type for Creating Defects: This dropdown is populated with all the Jira issue types available for the project.

  • Additional Case details, Run details and Cycle details selection: This area lists all AIO case, run and cycle fields that are enabled via the Field Configurations page along with the custom fields applicable for Cases, Cycles and Runs.

Step 3: On the General Preferences, select the Default Jira Issue Type for Creating Defects from the drop-down list.

Users have the option to toggle on the additional case details for Case, Run, and Cycle that they want to include in the description.

Once you select the Default Jira Issue Type and Additional details, you can create a new defect at any time from the Create new issue link on the Cycle detail page.
