AIO Tests allows you to link the steps of your test cases with other cases while creating/editing cases with the click of a button. With this feature, you can reuse existing cases of the current or any other project that you have access to.

In this documentation, you’ll understand:

Steps to Link Cases

Step 1: To Link cases, simply click on the plus icon (+) to create a new row below the row on which the plus icon was clicked. Click on the Vertical ellipsis button to get to the linking window.

The action to link cases is available at the time of case creation (Steps page) and also while editing a case (Steps tab). The GIF below is of the Steps tab opened in Edit mode.

Step 2: Click on the Link other case button.

Step 3: Once you click on the Link other case button, a modal window will appear on the screen where you can find the test case to link and view all the steps of the case before linking. Select the case that you need to link by clicking on the link icon next to the test case.

  • Users can also link cases from other projects as well.

  • Users can search for cases using the Case title or key via the search box or by using any of the filters.

  • Draft cases are not available for linking. Only cases with the status ‘Under Review’ or ‘Published’ can be linked to other cases.

Step 4: Once you select the case, it gets added with a Show Steps option. Click on the Show Steps option to see the steps of the linked case.

If users click on Show Steps, it becomes Hide Steps.

Dataset Based Cases Rules

Cases which have datasets defined cannot be linked to cases and would show the linking button as disabled :

Datasets cannot be added to cases which are already linked to other cases.
