AIO Tests allows you to manage your test cases with a click of a button. It not only allows you to edit the existing test cases, but also lets you remove the cases with ease.

In this documentation, you’ll understand:

Circumstances When You May Need to Delete a Case

On AIO Tests, you can easily delete a case if there are any unnecessary cases or if you have created a duplicate case by mistake. Here are some of the circumstances when a case should be removed.

  • Unnecessary cases: In case a test case created by you is no longer needed or the requirement has been changed and the test case is not valid anymore, you should remove that list to avoid any kind of confusion.

  • Duplicate cases: If you have mistakenly created two test cases with the same details, you should delete one case from the platform to keep your data organized.

  • Recreate test cases: Whether you want to merge two different test cases or want to change the details of some test cases, you should delete those test cases from AIO Tests.

  • Outdated functionality: When the software that you are testing undergoes changes, modifications or updates, or its features become outdated, test cases that are related to obsolete functionality should also be deleted.

Steps to Delete a Case

Step 1: To delete a case, simply click on the Cases option in the top bar menu.

Step 2: On the Cases page, right-click on the case that you want to delete and hit the Delete option from the drop-down menu.

Users can also delete the cases from the Case detail page as shown in the below image.

Step 3: Once you click on the Delete option, the confirmation modal window will appear on the screen for further confirmation of your action. Click on the Confirm option.

  • If the case is not added to any set or cycle for execution or linked as a step in other cases, it will be deleted safely.

  • However, if it is associated with a set or cycle or linked as a step in other cases, the user will see an error message saying “there could be loss of execution data”. If a user still wishes to delete this case, all references from cycles, sets and cases where the “to be” deleted case is linked will be removed if the user moves ahead with the operation.

  • User can change the option from Delete to Archive if they are not sure of the deletion process via the drop-down.

Step 4: Once you click on the Confirm option, another confirmation model window will appear on the screen. The second confirmation model is displayed warning that the action will result in permanent deletion and that it is an irreversible action. Click on the Proceed option to delete the case or Cancel if you don’t wish to delete the cases. You can also click on the Back button and decide to archive the cases instead.

A case once deleted cannot be recovered.
