Execution Detail Report

Like Execution Summary report, Execution Detail report is also created for a particular cycle. The report shows execution detail of all the cases added to the specified cycle. The report can be used to dive deeper into execution of cases by using filters and a number of different columns.

Generating Execution Detail Report

Click on the right chevron, next to the execution detail report to get the input screen for the report. Specify the cycle for which the report should be generated and click on Generate. The below screenshot shows ADP-CY-1 selected from the ATM example. The filter option can be enabled to narrow down the cycles list. You can filter the cycles list by Component, Release, Cycle Tags or by Cycle Folders.

The report output is shown below and each section is explained in detail next.

Cycle Overview

The top section consists of the Title, objective, start date and end date of the cycle.

Execution Details

This section displays execution details of all cases added to the cycle. The columns that are shown by default are - key, title, priority, estimated and actual effort, execution details - executed by, executed on and status and associated defects. There is an option to customize the columns as needed.

A user can view this data grouped either by folders, sets or by components. Below screenshot shows data grouped by folders. In the Key column, the value inside brackets, next to the folder name, represents the the number of cases under the particular folder.

You can customize columns by selecting/deselecting columns from the Select Columns drop down. Click on Update Grid to see the customized grid.

You cannot remove the Key, Title, Executed By, Run Status and Defects columns from the grid.

After adding the Execution mode as a column, the grid looks like:

By default, “Show only non-empty folders” is checked but when its not selected, the entire Cases folder structure will be shown with no case details since no cases from those folders are added to the cycle. This option doesn’t apply to Sets.

Execution Details - Filters

There is an expandable Filters section in the report. By using Filters, you can slice and dice data. You can use one or more filters, to make your search for cases easy and only the rows that meet the filter criteria will be displayed and other rows will be hidden. The highlighted criteria in the screenshot below allows for filtering cases that required multiple runs or the ones that have defects associated.
