Copying a Cycle
AIO Tests allows you to copy an existing cycle with the click of a button. Whether you want to copy the details of an existing cycle or want to customize the existing cycle as per your requirements, the test management tool lets you do it with ease.
In this documentation, you’ll understand:
Steps to Copy a Cycle
Step 1: To copy a cycle, all you need to do is click on the Cycles option in the top bar menu.
Step 2: On the Cycles page, right-click on the cycle that you want to copy and hit the Copy option from the drop-down menu.
Users can also copy the cycle from the Cycle detail page.
Step 3: Once you click on the Copy button, the Create Cycle modal window will appear on the screen with all the details of the source cycle.
Users have these three options to choose from:
Create Cycle: Clicking on the Create Cycle button will create the cycle and the user will be returned to the page from where the Copy was clicked (cycles grid or cycle details page).
Add Cases: Clicking on the Add Cases button will show all the cases that you can add to that particular cycle. Select cases that you want to add to that particular cycle from a list of published cases of the current as well as any other project you have access to. Once you select the cases, click on the Save button.
Users can search for Cases with the Case title or key via the search box. Users can also use filters like Key, Owner, Priority, Folder, Release, etc. to get a specific list quickly. Users also have the option to add more filter options.
Users can also add their desired version of a case to a cycle.
Users can change the project using the project selector drop-down to add cases of other projects.
By default, the list only shows cases in Published status. The cases in Draft, Under Review, and Deprecated statuses cannot be added to a Cycle. If the user is looking for a specific case, then by turning on “Show Non-eligible cases also,” they can view all cases.
If Sets are defined for Cycle executions, Cases belonging to Sets can be added by using the Sets filter. Users can select multiple Sets.
Cases belonging to the source cycle will be automatically added.
By ticking the 'Copy Latest Runs' checkbox, users can copy the data from the latest runs in the cycle, along with the execution data, into the next cycle.
Assign Users: Clicking on the Assign Users button allows you to assign testers to the added cases. Select the desired cases that you want to assign to a particular user, and bulk assignment can be done for the selected cases. Once you assign users to cases, click on the Go to Executions button to start executing the cycle.
Users can click on the Save button if they don’t want to assign users to cases at the time of creating Cycles.
If all cases have to be assigned to the same person, the top checkbox can be clicked and bulk assignment can be done. The assignments can happen later too from the cycle details page.
Users have the option to go back and add more cases by clicking the ‘Cases’ tab or edit initial details by clicking the ‘Details’ tab.
Once you copy the cycle, it will be automatically added to the list of Cycles from where the Copy action was clicked.
