Execution Overview

The Execution Overview gadget allows you to view the current status and progress of the specified execution cycles. The gadget shows details about the cases added to a cycle, their status, execution effort, defects, etc.

Steps to Add Execution Overview Gadget

Step 1: To add the execution overview gadget, simply click on the Edit button on your selected dashboard.

Users can add the execution overview gadget at the time of dashboard creation and also while editing a dashboard. The image below is of the Edit mode.

Step 2: On the right-side panel, enter Execution Overview into the Add a Gadget field. 

Step 3: Click on the Add button for the AIO Tests - Execution Overview gadget. 

Step 4: Once you click on the Add button, the Execution Overview gadget will be added to your dashboard. Enter the required details into their respective fields. 

  • Project: Enter the project name into the Project field. 

  • Cycle: Click on the Cycle field and select the cycle(s) from the drop-down list.

  • Users can only specify one project in the execution overview gadget. However, if you want to view the overview report across projects, the execution overview gadget can be added multiple times.

  • Users have the option to customize the look of the execution overview output by ticking/unticking the checkboxes for Display options- Show selected Cycle list, Show Case distribution, Show effort distribution, and Show Cycle summary.

    • Show selected Cycle list: Users can choose whether or not the cycle keys and titles are displayed as part of the execution overview output.

    • Show Case distribution: Users can choose if they wish to see the graph of the execution status of cases in specified cycles as part of the execution overview output.

    • Show Effort distribution: Users can choose if they wish to see the graph of estimated effort/remaining effort distribution in the execution overview output.

    • Show Cycle Summary: Users can choose if they wish to see the table with details for specified cycles in the execution overview output.

  • Users also have the option to select the refresh interval, which determines the frequency at which the dashboard should undergo updates, by clicking on the Refresh interval field. By default, the refresh interval is set to None.

  • Users can select one or multiple cycles of the selected project in the Execution Overview gadget input window or they can make the input Dynamic using the Filter option for Cycle instead of List

Step 5: Finally, click on the Save button.

Once you click on the Save button, the below output will be displayed on the screen. For more details on the numbers shown in the output, please refer to the Multi-Cycle Execution Summary report.

  • Users can also manually refresh the dashboard by clicking on the Refresh option from the ellipsis located at the top right corner of the AIO Tests- Execution Overview gadget.

  • All columns in the grid can be clicked to view additional details, except Est. Effort and Actual Effort.
