Manage Cases- Changing Scope

Group 1 (61).png AIO Tests allows users to manage cases within a cycle with the click of a button. On the test management tool, users can create new cases in the cycle execution page, add more cases to a cycle, lock a cycle to restrict adding/removing the cases from it, re-order cases, and bulk remove cases from a cycle.

In this documentation, you’ll understand:

Creating a New Case within a Cycle

AIO Tests lets users create a new case from the Cycle execution detail page without going to the Cases tab. To create a new case, click on the vertical ellipsis icon (⋮) located at the top right corner of the Cycle execution detail section and select the Create new case option from the dropdown menu. Once you click on the Create new case option, the Create Case modal window will appear on the screen where you can create a case. For details regarding how to create a case, please see Writing Cases

  • A case created within a Cycle can only be in Published status.

  • Users can also create a new case from the Cycle Cases detail page.

Steps to Add Existing Cases to Cycles

Step 1: To add existing cases to a cycle, simply click on the Cycles option in the top bar menu.

Step 2: On the Cycles page, click on the desired Cycle key to which you want to add existing cases. 

 

Step 3: Click on the vertical ellipsis button (⋮) located at the top right corner of the cycle execution detail page and hit the Add existing cases button. Tick the cases that you want to add to the cycle. 

  • Users can also add cases to cycles from the Cycle cases screen.

  • Users can add cases by searching using a title or key, or using filters. 

  • Users have the option to add the cases of other projects by selecting them from the Project dropdown list. 

  • Users can click ‘Show previously added cases’ to see which cases have already been added to the cycle. 

 

Step 4: Finally, click on the Save button.

 

Steps to Lock Cycle Scope

Step 1: To lock a cycle, simply click on the Cycles option in the top bar menu.

Step 2: On the Cycles page, click on the desired Cycle key that you want to restrict from the addition/removal of cases. 

 

Step 3: Click on the vertical ellipsis button (⋮) located at the top right corner of the cycle execution detail page and hit the Lock cycle scope button.

Users can also lock the cycle from the Cycle Cases page.

Step 4: Once you click on the Lock cycle scope button, the Lock cycle scope modal window will appear on the screen. Click on the Confirm button. 

Once you click on the Confirm button, you are restricted to add/remove cases from that cycle. A lock is shown on the cycle as highlighted below. To learn how to set the permissions for the cases, click here.

Steps to Reorder Cases

Step 1: To reorder cases on the Cycle execution section, click on the vertical ellipsis button (⋮) located at the top right corner of the screen and hit the Reorder cases button. 

Step 2: Drag and drop the cases using the drag handle icon for the cases that you want to rearrange.  

Step 3: Finally, click on the Done button.

Steps to Remove Multiple Cases

Step 1: To remove multiple cases from the Cycle execution section, click on the vertical ellipsis button (⋮) located at the top right corner of the screen and hit the Bulk remove cases button.

Step 2: Tick the cases that you want to delete. Click on the Bulk button and select the Remove cases option from the drop-down menu.

Step 3: Once you click on the Remove cases option, the confirmation modal window will appear on the screen for further confirmation of your action. Click on the Remove button.
